I’ve actually been looking to write this one for some time now, ever since I became obsessed with this band, and now finally with the big F I saw a good time to. In the first draft of this I focussed on the Album review, but now I’ll just focus on their music as a whole.

So for the first of three parts I’ll delve into one of my favorite topics, film. Cinema has really been a passion of mine since my parents took me to movies as a kid (I remember watching Remember the Titans, falling asleep to In The Cut and 21 Grams and hating the last two). I always had an opinion about it, they gave me plots to think about and soon enough criticise. Continue reading »
I was really thinking of writing about the Environment for this one, like a friend of mine suggested, but when it comes down to it, I already talked about it a lot, and my “Belief” explains how I feel about it. So instead of that I decided to talk about something else, something that people think is “so good” and that seems good, but the fact is – and my mum made me realize this, especially as she has a hand in this part of the world – it really is bad.

This is an amazing video, great speech by a great writer and really inspirational. I will probably write about the topic soon, but not now. I’m going to let it mull over, roll around and then write about it, like with the Cap and Trade one.
Until then, enjoy.

I was sitting on my bed with a will to write, write anything, as long as it’s something, and after much deliberation – 2 seconds – I decided to fall back upon something I could easily continue. It did fall a little harder to get a topic, because well, I still don’t know what else with a “D” I could write about. So here’s something I am quite interested in – from a viewers perspective – an art that isn’t really given the importance of all the other ones in Europe, but is the soul of South America and the beat of the US.

As I’m studying business studies I have to do a lot on economics and such in the first year. In one of my modules (Information economics) we had the assignment to “Analyse how a printed publication should respond to the increasing use of the internet as a source of news, comment and entertainment in a way that is profitable.” Of course we also had to apply economic theory, and the lack thereof gave me lower marks than I had expected. But still, I quite liked my report (and so did my tutor and my father), so I decided to put it here. Enjoy, and comment.

Well, I did originally think about doing the Big C as Climate Change, but really, that is too broad, and everyone knows it is a problem. So instead I’m going to be reiterating what I already basically said on my blog. Well I didn’t say it, so my words might not be as good, but really, doesn’t matter, as long as the message does get across.

I have these moments every time after a philosophical conversation where I realize/decide what I believe in, meaning, I think about what was just discussed play it over in my mind, let it settle and draw conclusions. The other day was such a day for me, so after a small discussion on different theories showing what we believe in…more or less, I came to a conclusion that I quite like.

When it started everyone was sighing in relief and doing demonstrations to ensure that changes were really made. Now that the days of the Conference for Climate Change in Copenhagen are dwindling away and reaching an end those sighs are turning into tremors in ones core.
This time I’m not going to write something huge about Climate Change, not yet at least, instead I’ll let you watch the story of cap & trade. This is right now considered the best solution to climate change, but really, it isn’t. I’m sure my mum will be happy to know that there are people working on the spreading of this message, as she has been against the whole “trade” of Carbon emissions since the Al Gore film came out.
Enjoy, comment and share.
So many important things to discuss in this world, from pressing topics such as the Copenhaagen climate change convention thing that didn’t have any result to very very very important matters like that Tiger Woods cheated on his wife (please…), but really, those things don’t get me to write for simple reasons. The first one is simply depressing, how our leaders can’t come to a consensus that well, we’re killing our planet and still can’t find a resolution to make it better. The second one is depressing just for its coverage and the importance that it has been given. So I’ll talk instead about something I said today to a friend.
